Rationale: Homework is given so that students have an opportunity to practice and be evaluated on their individual use of new language skills. Students who do not practice these skills are less likely to gain mastery of these new elements. Students who do not practice these skills are also less capable of contributing to a classroom environment where French is used. Therefore, all students must complete homework assignments.

This program is implemented to provide motivation for students to complete their assignments and to meet their academic responsibilities.

1. Homework is due on at the beginning of the hour on the due date. If it is not completed on time, the homework is ZAPPED and the student must call home to arrange to stay after school THAT DAY to complete the homework (from 2:45 to 3:15 in Room 311).

2. If the homework is partially done but incomplete, the homework is ZAPPED and the student must finish it during the after-school ZAP hour. Students will then receive a grade of not greater than 50% when the homework is complete.

3. If homework is completed before the ZAP time, go to ZAP but take other homework or a library book.

4. Any time a teacher feels effort was not applied on an assignment, you can be ZAPPED. Madame will let you know.
