  • nouveau (nouvelle) new
  • vieux (vieille) old
  • jeune + young
  • bon(ne) + good
  • gentil (gentille) nice
  • mauvais(e) bad
  • vilain(e) mean
  • grand(e) + big/tall
  • petit(e) short/small
  • court(e) + short (as in skirt)
  • long(ue) long
  • gros(se) + heavy, fat
  • large wide
  • haut(e) high
  • affreux (affreuse) terrible
  • dernier (dernière) + last
  • méchant(e) + bad, mean
  • meilleur(e) best
  • pauvre poor
  • autre other
+ sometimes placed after a noun, and may change in meaning
--When these adjectives appear before an indefinite plural noun, they will change the article associated with it:
des garçons courageux / de beaux garçons
